    Even before the "new/modern"Indians started popularising sattu, does any one remember the MALTED drink that was being marketed for the children? Barley malt is used even in the USA. The soaking of the grains & then drying it makes it malted. I remember as a child growing up in UP & Punjab, EVERY YEAR, during high summer season, BEFORE the onset of the rainy season, our mid morning snack used to be sattu sharbat. You can make sattu from whole mung, moth, ragi & wheat. It can be made into a savory drink, halwa, like the baby cereal. It is widely used as the stuffing in litti in Bihar

    Thanks a lot. I used to drink it in my college days. My mom used to gv chana sattu & stuffed roti too. Then it was vanished from the diet.
    Would you please also guide any food item that is rich in Collagen. .

    Hi the information was too good.Seeing talking u about sattu really felt nice As I basically belong to bihar and lived in RANCHI for a very long time.
    U can mix sattu with cold water add onions,roasted jeera powder,lemon,salt and ready to go.
    it's even taken as a sweet version by adding jaggery or sugar with milk.
    most famous for winter sattu parathyroid or litti.

    Due to Vata/Dryness issues in my body, my ayurvedic dr has told me not to consume besan. But as you said it's not besan. I still want to clarify if it's ok to consume if people have Vata imbalance with dry skin. Thanks. ❤️👍
